Talented graduate boasting work experience in several varied and challenging environments

[Attention. Capture attention in paragraph 1]

In your advert, you said you were looking for a bright, talented graduate with great commercial acumen. Well, I have a 2:1 degree and managed to secure work experience with a range of employers over the past three years, and have exhibited all the qualities you require. Please find a CV and Cover letter to both apply for and justify why I am ideally suited to this role.

[Interest. Develop interest by showing how you match their requirements in paragraph 2]

Your job advert specifically asked for candidates who possess strong skills in: presenting, project management and relationship building. Well, I have demonstrated these skills during the last three years when I pitched to a group of investors and won funding for a local charity initiative and managed relationships with investors by demonstrating that the funds were being utilized effectively. I have several other robust examples of achievements in this area which I have outlined in my CV and would also be pleased to explain at interview.

[Desire. Build desire by creating a sense of scarcity in paragraph 3]

You should know that I am not just the typical graduate. I have several key qualities that distinguish me from my peers, such as I have created my own mobile app and I have volunteered for several social initiatives in the UK and Africa. Not many graduates have achieved this.

[Culture fit. Show how you fit the team culture paragraph 4]

I noticed on your team Facebook page that several of your team are keen runners and we may share some personal affinity here too, as I have completed 2 triathlons and am a keen runner.

[Call to action in paragraph 5]

As  you can see I am passionate about this opportunity and am keen to demonstrate that I am the graduate who can really make a difference to your business. Please read my resume and I draw your attention to my third year project in Emerging Market Dynamics which fits well with your latest new product initiative. I do look forward to hearing from you!

Yours sincerely,
